The court in Amsterdam has ruled that an HIV-infected man from Amsterdam does not have to stop growing his own medicinal cannabis. The "standard" HIV medication prescribed to the man makes him nauseous, making him unable to keep down these very necessary medications.
By using a certain type of weed, this effect is counteracted and the man is therefore no longer in danger of death. In the Netherlands, there is currently an officially designated company that grows medicinal weed. However, this type of weed did not work for the man's specific complaints. Therefore, the court decided that the man is allowed to continue growing his own weed.
